Equality, Diversity and Inclusion

The Scottish Society of Playwrights is committed to a policy of equality of opportunity with regard to our policies and practices for members and those with whom the Society interacts. This means that no one with whom the Society interacts will be treated less favourably on the grounds of their sex, marital status, race, nationality or ethnic origin, disability, health, mental health, neurodivergence, sexual orientation, gender identity, age, religion, working practices or whether they have HIV and/or AIDS.

The Society recognises that discrimination exists and is committed to ensuring that such behaviour and attitudes are eliminated.

Discrimination and harassment will not be tolerated and all reported instances will be dealt with by the elected Council of the Society.

The Society is committed to the principles of equality on the basis of fairness and valuing the contribution of everyone, and abides by the principles and requirements as defined by the Equality Act 2010.
