The Play
Set in the Summer of 2021, right after lockdown, So Young sees Milo – who lost his wife to Covid three months before – invite two of his oldest pals over to drink wine, listen to tunes, and reminisce about the olden days. He surprises them with the new love of his life, Greta, a twenty-year-old he met online. The innocuous evening slides towards ruin as old friends confront middle age. Fuelled by a bottle of aged Scotch, the midlife couple react to their recently widowed friend’s sudden acquisition of a girlfriend twenty-five years his junior, so soon after his wife’s death.
So Young is a Traverse Theatre co-production with Raw Material and Citizens Theatre.
