Pathway to Zero and Environmental Impact
The Scottish Society of Playwrights recognises that we are in a climate emergency.
While our everyday activities do not generate significant carbon emissions, we remain committed to working with members, partner organisations, and the venues in which we operate to understand how we can best minimise emissions and reduce our carbon footprint in-line with Scottish government advice and industry best practice.
Where practicable, we will signpost Sustainable Production Standards as part of any direct activities or projects instigated with members, and will encourage the offsetting of emissions in line with Net Zero targets as these new environmental practices are trialled.
Since the pandemic, our events and activities have been made accessible with digital participation. We remain committed to a hybrid operating model, and encourage remote access to avoid emissions from unnecessary travel.
We will strive to ensure that all activities undertaken by SSP and its partners and collaborators take cognisance of the need to Reduce, Reuse and Recycle materials and consumables.
